Acupuncture May Help With Fertility

Updated: Jul 5

Acupuncture is mainly known for addressing pain, but there is some evidence to suggest that acupuncture may help improve fertility in both men and women. While there is not a lot of conclusive research to support that, some studies have found that acupuncture can increase the chances of pregnancy, improve the quality of semen, and regulate the menstrual cycle.

Acupuncture can work in several ways to help with fertility issues. It can regulate the production and release of certain hormones which play a key role in the menstrual cycle and ovulation. This can help create a more conducive environment for conception. It can also improve blood flow to the reproductive organs, which can help to nourish them and improve their overall function. It can reduce stress and anxiety which may indirectly improve fertility by creating a more relaxed state. Many women who have come to see Dr. Gary for fertility issues have high stress as a common factor. It doesn't also have to apply to solely women for fertility issues. Men can benefit from acupuncture as it may help improve semen quality by increasing sperm count and motility.

Acupuncture is usually paired with IVF (in vitro fertilization) to improve IVF success rates, and at the staggering prices of IVF in general, it'd be worth the small investment to get even a small boost in getting pregnant. The average success rates of IVF range from 20% - 35%, but with acupuncture in conjunction could raise those rates to 38% - 50%. With the average cost of IVF being $12,000 each cycle, our base tier membership of $60 per month for two acupuncture and cupping sessions (a.k.a. Prepared and Ready) is a huge bargain for low cost acupuncture and great investment for a chance at nearly doubling your success rates.

Here at Pinnacle Acupuncture, where our goal is to have our patients be the pinnacle of health, we would love to help you with any fertility issues you may have.
